The Pope to Stay in Cyprus after Roman Around Europe

This summer Cyprus will, for two days, become the home for the leader of the Roman Catholic Church as your cheap flights to Paphos get the holy seal of approval.

This June, Pope Benedict XVI will be staying in Cyprus as part of his holy tour around Europe. The Pope will be arriving on June 4th before leaving from Larnaca Airport two days later after a whirlwind stay in the Cypriot country.

15,000 to 20,000 People Expected at Public Mass

Roman Catholics from all over Cyprus, as well as those from neighbouring countries, are likely to descend on the Cypriot cities for his public mass at Agia Kyriaki Church. It is thought anywhere between 15,000 and 20,000 people will be in attendance.

The Pope arrives in Cyprus at the invitation of the Archbishop of Cyprus and the president and will also be taking in visits to Britain and Spain amongst other countries on his tour.

The swell in people arriving in the country could add a different dimension for visitors touching down on cheap flights to Cyprus.
