In what was a turbulent month for the air travel industry the Turkish holiday resort of Dalaman continued its rise up the top 50 list of most popular cheap flights destinations.
Overall it was a good month for Turkey with four resorts recorded in the top 50 as collated by Skyscanner. Cheap flights to Dalaman rose by a single place to sit just outside the top five at number six.
Its rise in popularity can be credited to Turkey’s balmy climate and a picturesque landscape that is steeped in history. This is before you consider the many glorious beaches and luxury marinas that cling to its coast.
Top Five Dominated by Cheap Flights to Spain
Cheap flights to Spain continued to dominant the top five list, with Malaga, Alicante, Tenerife and Palma – on Majorca – as the top four respectively. They were joined by another non-mover, Faro in Portugal, to make up the top five.
Yet it is the growing popularity of cheap flights to Turkey that turned most heads in Skyscanner’s latest listings. At a time when people are more conscious about their budgets, escaping the eurozone has been preferable and Turkey offers the perfect compromise.
Offering everything that you will find on a Mediterranean holiday with its own unique culture, cheap flights to Turkey are unlocking a new playground for holidaymakers.
