Jet2.com, the leading low fare airline, is taking a proactive approach to the air space closures that have affected the UK again by putting contingency plans in place to keep passengers moving. By focusing on solutions rather than cancellations they are helping their travellers get to where they need to be with their cheap flights.
With the now infamous ash cloud causing more disruption, numerous airports were once again forced to close. However, instead of letting this continued disruption affect travel plans Jet2.com are already looking ahead.
Flying “Above and Around” Affected Airspace
To ensure that any future disruption to their cheap flights is kept to a minimum they have declared that they will be flying “above and around” affected airspaces, regardless of the additional cost this will create.
However, central to their efforts will be a SMS service to keep customers up-to-date with their flight and all related news. This mobile service will also inform people of alternative transport and what they need to do. So that Jet2.com can keep customers informed, they are encouraged people to leave their mobile numbers when they book.
Ensuring Customers Take Their Well Earned Holidays
The alternative transport forms another vital strand of this campaign as the airline look to develop links with numerous coach companies to keep people mobile should there be further closures. Philip Meeson, boss of Jet2.com, said:
“We respect the decision that the authorities are making in these extremely difficult circumstances and like them, safety remains our highest priority.
“At the same time, we want to reassure customers that we are fully committed to doing our very best to ensure they are able to take their well earned holidays which is why we have formalised this contingency plan.
“Our website, www.Jet2.com is being updated continuously with the latest information and we would like to ensure customers that we are making every endeavour to fly them safely in line with the current restrictions.”
