Discover a world made of sand with cheap flights to Turkey at the International Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival 2010.
Each year, Lara Beach Park in Antalya welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors to the world’s largest sandcastle event. Around 40 artists from over 10 countries spend nearly two months creating masterpieces out of the simple combination of sand and water.
There are varying themes that open the door to a world of incredible life-sized characters and scenes. This year is no exception, as the chosen theme of ‘Mythology II’ has inspired artists to create huge sculptures of 300, Troy and King Arthur amongst others.
More Than Just a Beach Resort
The festival opened officially with a ceremony on 20 June 2010 and will remain open until 20 November 2010. In addition to being able to view these incredible sculptures, visitors on cheap flights to Turkey can expect to find live music events, children’s workshops and laser and sound shows, as well as a sand sculpture competition for amateurs.
The exhibition is open day and night, with tours available between 10am and 11pm. The city of Antalya, situated on the beautiful Mediterranean coast and surrounded by mountains, is one of Turkey’s top holiday destinations.
