Holidaymakers on cheap flights to Majorca will find its palaces and castles playing host to an array of musical acts this summer.

The new cultural program for summer 2010 in Palma de Mallorca, ‘Palma Nit a Nit 2010’ has been published and includes a range of exciting musical events. These will be taking place in venues across the city such as the Parque del Mar, the historic barracks Ses Voltes, the royal palace Casal Solleric and Bellver Castle.

Not only are the venues spectacular, but so are the acts. On 23 July 2010, Peret ‘The Catalan Rumba King’ is performing his unique style of rumba flamenco at Ses Voltes, fusing gypsy guitar with Cuban rhythms.

One of Europe’s few circular castles, the Gothic-style Bellver Castle dating from 1300 is playing host to numerous acts, including academy award winning Uruguayan musician, Jorge Drexler, who is performing on 21 August 2010.

Before then, on 10 July 2010, visitors on cheap flights to Majorca will find British folk rock legend, Richard Thompson and winner of the 2006 BBC Lifetime Achievement Award appearing at the castle. Alongside these events, the Bellver Castle Music Festival is also taking place with classical music concerts on the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th of July, featuring performances by the Balearic Symphony Orchestra with special guest performances.
