Dubrovnik has held its annual summer music and theatre festival since 1949 and this year expects more than 2000 artists from 30 countries to take part in Croatia’s showcase of only the finest music and theatre.
Cheap Flights to Croatia for a Film Festival
As well as classical music and theatre, the festival now includes film in its programme, as part of Croatia’s national Pula Film Festival. The entire city is used to host the festival, with over 70 venues, many open-air.
Further up the stunning Dalmatian coast, tourists arriving on cheap flights to Croatia will find the Split Summer Festival, taking place from 14 July – 14 August.
Local residents join with tourists to enjoy a wide spectrum of opera, drama, ballet and classical music concerts, as well as jazz concerts, film festival exhibitions and street theaters.
To add to the exquisite performances, dramatic venues such as the Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, amplify the magic of a summer’s evening in this beautiful city. These Summer Festivals are the perfect way to experience the true spirit of the two cities, as the local resident’s interest and involvement provides the life and soul of the events.
