A perfect time to hit the slopes

With early snowfalls across the globe and a host of great deals to be had, now may be the perfect time to grab the skis and book a winter getaway.

Writing on the travel pages of the Daily Mail, Pete Hardy explains that on a recent visit to Val d'Isere, there was such a covering of fresh snow he found it hard to believe it was still December and not mid-February.

"Not only are snow conditions quite extraordinary across the entire Alps and the Pyrenees, but there's never been a better time to book a bargain ski trip," he added.

Mr Hardy explained that this was because many tour operators have cut their prices and there are even still places available to grab a quick getaway on the slopes over Christmas and the New Year.
