Sun-worshippers should consider cheap flights to Cyprus at the moment as the island continues to bake in a record-breaking heat wave. On Sunday (1 August 2010) the temperatures soared to an incredible 46 degrees Celsius and have hovered around the 42 degrees Celsius ever since.
It is also thought that humidity levels reached 100% at the start of the week to continue the impressive weather.
Perfect Time to Top Up the Tan
This might be the kind of weather some holidaymakers are craving as they look to top up their tan whilst relaxing on beaches or by the pool. However, the excessive heat has come with a warning to many locals, which applies to visitors to the island. It has been recommended that, during the hours of midday to four o’clock in the afternoon, people should avoid prolonged periods exposed to the sunlight.
This might be the ideal time to leave the beach and enjoy one of the many tours around the eye-catching landmarks that decorate Cyprus. There are also plenty of attractions to arrest visitors’ attention whilst on holiday.
Alternatively, relaxing in the many beach facing street bars with some chilled beverages might be the best way to enjoy the midday heat after arriving on cheap flights to Cyprus.
