The Balkan country of Croatia is now established as one of the premier destinations for luxurious yet affordable holidays. The promise of glorious weather, amazing soft sand beaches and interesting villages has made it a hit with Brits.
However, there is another activity that is growing in popularity and gives tourists the chance to explore the picturesque landscape that characterises Croatia – rafting.
Enjoying Croatia’s Amazing Landscape
Croatia is blessed with numerous rivers including the Kupa, Dobra, Korana, Una, Mreznica, Cetina and Zrmanja. Plus it isn’t difficult getting the right equipment and even training needed to enjoy an excursion off the beaten track.
The Croatian National Tourist Board has been promoting the merits of rafting recently, claiming, “the numerous organised rafting packages in Croatia include a guide and all the required equipment for each individual member of the team.”
However, dabbling in watersports isn’t for everyone but that doesn’t mean tourists arriving on cheap flights to Croatia have to miss out from seeing the country’s amazing landscapes. The Dalmatian coast is arguably the jewel in Croatia’s crown and it is renowned for having easy access for trekking or even casual strolls.
