Staff of Jet2 and Jet2holidays teamed up last Friday (20 August 2010) but to no avail, as the team were out-done by the people of Nottingham. On the beach of the Nottingham Riviera the two teams did battle for the bragging rights and it was the general public, who had been pulled together by the staff at Heart FM, who emerged victorious.
The winning team were then allowed to draw tickets at random until the winning ticket was pulled out. This gave one lucky member of the victorious tug-of-war team a 4* holiday in Crete with a partner.
“The Riviera is all about good fun”
The event was part of Jet2’s commitment to the popular summer beach experience in Nottingham’s Old Market Square. Throughout the summer there have been a number of activities designed to appeal to the public.
Tapas Tuesdays are amongst the most popular events, giving people a true taste of Spain, whilst there are plenty of opportunities to find discounts on flights and competitions.
Steve Heapy, Managing Director of Jet2holidays, said: “The Nottingham Riviera is a fantastic event for people in the region and it has been great to be a part of it. The Riviera is all about good fun and as the new kids on the block at East Midlands Airport we thought that we would use this opportunity to show the people of Nottingham just what Jet2holidays is made of, with a good old fashioned Tug of War!”
