Visitors on cheap flights to Salzburg this winter will be able to do their bit for charity because the Starlight Ski Challenge returns to Saalbach Hinterglemm, in 2011. The event, held between 12 and 16 of March 2011, involves racing between as many of the 50 mountain huts in the 200km Saalbach Hinterglemm Ski Circus as possible in a day to raise money for children’s charity Starlight.
Starlight’s aim is to grant once in a lifetime wishes to seriously and terminally ill children and this year it is hoped that the proceeds from the Starlight Ski Challenge will offer five children and their families the opportunity to visit Lapland.
A Magical Ski Weekend
The day starts with a hearty sunrise breakfast and then the teams will take to the slopes for some serious fun and a healthy dose of competition.
The teams will stay at the Alpen-Karawanserai hotel and spa, one of the world’s top leading spa hotels, and will spend a magical weekend in one of the world’s most beautiful regions. In addition, for any bookings made this winter, the hotel will be giving 5% to the charity.
Cheap flights to Salzburg, and the many resorts it unlocks, are well known for providing optimal skiing conditions in the wintertime and have become a favourite for ski holidays in Europe.
