They say skiing is about moments like slaloming down a fast slope or admiring amazing scenery as the sun sets and it sounds like a stay in the resort of Courmayeur is full of them. This is the view of Adrian Bridge writing in the Telegraph’s Travel section.
Looking for a weekend break that would provide plenty of skiing and plenty of adventure, the Italian resort of Courmayeur came highly recommended. Mr. Bridge said it’s “a classic Italian resort in the Aosta Valley with plenty of old-world alpine charm, a reasonably challenging variety of slopes suitable for intermediate-level skiers and quick access to them.”
Plenty of Choice
Yet whilst skiing was the main course on the menu, Mr. Bridge was just as impressed with the culinary offering. “As I read up on Courmayeur before setting off, it certainly came across as a mouth-watering prospect – literally. I don't think I'd ever come across so many articles about a ski resort in which the main focus appeared to be food.”
In fact it is thought that many of the tourists visiting Courmayeur on cheap flights to Chambery are there as much for the food as the skiing.
There is an abundance of restaurants to choose from, many offering delicious views to complement the food.
