Verbier or Zermatt or Both?

Verbier and Zermatt are perhaps Switzerland’s best known and most popular skiing resorts. Both can be found in Valais, a canton in the southwest of the country that is famous for having large amounts of snow year round, and cheap flights with Jet2.com are available for both resorts.

Verbier is a village that can be found at the foot of Switzerland’s highest peaks. The ski resort itself resides high up on the mountainside at an altitude of 1500m, and has a number of great slopes. The resort is also famous for its off-piste runs, but these should only ever be attempted by expert skiers with a thorough knowledge of the area.

Picturesque Locations

Zermatt can be found just below the Matterhorn, one of the highest peaks of the Alps and the most photographed mountain in the world. It has some of the steepest slopes available, and its location is one of the best in terms of what weather it receives.

The best airport to fly to when visiting either Verbier or Zermatt with Jet2.com is probably Geneva. Its location means that you could get to both of the Swiss resorts in around three hours, but there’s also a helicopter link from the airport which would get you there in around 45 minutes.
