As the third largest of the islands in the Mediterranean, Cyprus has built a reputation as one of the best destinations to go for a sun-filled holiday. But the island’s weather only makes up part of its appeal, with its regular abundance of events and things to do forming a large part of what it has to offer its visitors.

As we go in to the summer, cheap flights to Cyprus from Jet2.com are becoming commonplace, making now a great time to take your family away for a week or two.

Attracting Some of the World’s Best Musicians

Until the end of May, Cyprus will be playing host to the Pharos Chamber Music Festival. Held annually on the island, the event is one of the best of its kind, featuring a number of the most renowned and talented chamber musicians in the world.

With all performances at the Royal Manor House in Kouklia, attendees can expect to see a host of different pieces, including some of Beethovan, Mozart and Bach. Admittance to the event is also very cheap, with normal costs being €22 and concessions just €17.

Food, Food and More Food

On the 12th of June, every seaside town will hold its own celebration of Kataklysmos, the Festival of the Flood. Unique to Cyrpus, the festival comprises several different celebrations open to both locals and tourists to enjoy.

Dances, swimming races, wrestling and singing make up just some of the events, and the festival is definitely worth a trip to the coast if you’re holidaying in mainland Cyprus.
