Resort choice and perfect snow conditions are major factors when it comes to having an enjoyable ski holiday, one sector commentator has claimed.
Carrie Hainge, brand and product manager from the Ski Club of Great Britain, explained that snow was "key" as it tended to be the top resorts that were more popular with holidaymakers and sports enthusiasts, because they were more likely to be located in an area that was "snow-sure".
She advised first-time skiers to borrow some equipment from friends or family.
"When you are out there, get some good tuition from a good ski school - it really does help to have lessons which can set you in good stead for your skiing career," Ms Hainge added.
Britons who want to waste no time in hitting the slopes may be pleased to learn that they can book cheap ski flights with budget airline Jet2.com to really get their holiday off to a flying start.
According to the Ski Club of Great Britain's Snowsports Analysis 2008, France remains the market leader and its popularity is partly fuelled by the prevalence of ski-to-door and high altitude snow-sure locations.
