Britons planning to take advantage of the remaining winter months by booking cheap ski flights and hitting the slopes may wish to make sure they have taken a number of steps which could better allow them to get everything they want out of their time on the piste.
Writing on the online travel pages of the Guardian, Phil Daoust said that holidaymakers should take the time to achieve a basic level of cardiovascular fitness before they arrive and also to work on building up their strength.
This could reduce the risk of sports enthusiasts being hit by fatigue only a few hours into their time on the slopes, while another action which could aid this would be to avoid alcohol, he added.
"Remember you are not James Bond and skiing is not all about slaloming through trees while avoiding machine-gun fire. If you simply can't resist that virgin powder, take a local guide," Mr Daoust stated.
Britons who have already begun preparing themselves for the skiing trip of a lifetime may also wish to keep in mind that choosing the perfect snow conditions can be a major factor when it comes to having an enjoyable experience on the slopes.
