Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands, may be the perfect location to enjoy a relaxing Christmas with a twist this year.
The Mirror has compiled a list of the top destinations to visit this festive season and claims that the island offers the chance for relaxing on the beach and soaking up the sun, away from the grey skies of a traditional British Christmas.
People looking to holiday in this way may be interested to know that Jet2.com offers cheap flights to Lanzarote, the neighbouring island to Fuerteventura.
"Go for a dip in the Atlantic when you picnic in the Dunes National Park on Fuerteventura ... Relax after a day on the beach with a lazy soak in the oriental hammam," the Mirror suggests.

Meanwhile, a survey by Kayak.co.uk has revealed that 60 per cent of Brits hope to plan a Christmas overseas.
