Snowboarding in Tignes

Tignes is one of the largest and most popular snowboarding weekend break resorts in France. With something for all levels, if you visit once, you are almost sure to return.

Throughout the year Tignes plays host to various national and international events and competitions, including the annual Kebra Classic which kicks of the season.

At an altitude of 2,100ft the resort is a part of the L’Espace Killy area which covers over 300km of piste. Tignes itself also offers a great variety of piste and off-piste. It’s close links with the party action of Val d’Isere only adds to it’s attraction.

If you are a snowboarding beginner you will be extremely well catered for. Tignes has a good variety of novice slopes and high levels of tuition in both freestyle and freeriding. There are also plenty of beginners courses on offer if you are looking for the full package.

Those looking for Freestyle terrain can visit the 2400m terrain park situated at Combe de Palafour. Closer to home there are plenty of good cliffs and gullies to keep you entertained.

Snowboarding in Arinsal

Arinsal boasts a fantastic setting and fabulous powder snow!

With great amenities for snowboarders, Arinsal is fast proving a popular resort, helped by its reasonable prices.

Freeriders should head for the north face of the Alt de la Capa or the north facing area beside the Cornellada run in Pal. Freestylers can make the most of the now doubled in size terrain park in Arinsal which has three distinct zones; a 100 metre long half pipe, an activity park area and a permanent circuit for snowboarderd and cross skiers.

The resort itself is very attractive with some fabulous views. Compact in size, it makes travelling out the area and nearby resorts of Arcalis and Andorra simple.

For the more daring visitor there’s plenty of off-piste, slalom courses and moguls to try out.
