Pas de la Casa for Excellent Skiing & Snowboarding Weekend Breaks
Situated right by the French border, Pas de la Casa (or “Pas” for short) is the highest (and sunniest) resort in the Pyrenees, boasting an excellent snow record with a good range of skiing, ideal for weekend skiing & snowboarding breaks. The purpose-built resort has a very modern lift system providing a great skiing area immediately accessible from the village.
Fantastic Snow Conditions for Skiing & Snowboarding Throughout the Season
Because of its north facing position, snow quality and quantity are virtually guaranteed from early December to mid-May making this a perfect place for a short ski break. Computer controlled state-of-the-art snow making from more than 275 cannons provides back up when required.
The Pas de la Casa Grau-roig ski area is now linked with Soldeu/El Tarter and offers an extensive 193km of pistes (know as the Grandvalira ski area). There is a terrain-park at Pas and a freestyle circuit at Grau Roig. Snowboarding is popular with the young crowd that Pas de la Casa attracts, whether on a weekend break or a longer snowboarding holiday.
The Pas de la Casa sector is a wide valley, taking the form of a big natural gulley with high walls gradually opening as you reach the lower areas. A good example are the Jordi Anglès black runs, under the Coll dels Isards, or the Taupes, FIS and Corvater in the Costa Rodona area - which has a very steep gradient only apt for expert skiers and boarders.
The higher slopes are predominantly blue and red runs, while in the lower area there's a very wide blue run stretching down to the town and is ideal for all levels.
Fantastic Atmosphere in the Mountain Restaurants & Cafes
Pas de la Casa's mountain environment is similar to that of the Alpine resorts, with sunny restaurants and cafés tucked into the side of runs, giving the place a great atmosphere.
Pas de la Casa has something for every skier or boarder and is a great place to go for a ski weekend. Beginners have an excellent learning area close to the main restaurants with a long looping trail back to the base area. Intermediates have the entire mountain and experts can push themselves as far as they want to go.
Fabulous Nightlife, Shops & Restaurants in Pas de la Casa
The resort is compact and everything is within near walking distance maximising your time on the slopes during the day and in the many bars and restaurants at night. Pas offers an excellent range of shops, restaurants, bars, cafés and a thriving nightlife - all with great duty-free prices!
