If freeriding is your thing you will be overwhelmed with Tignes. With 50 runs including several blacks and plenty of reds confident boarders will be in paradise. If you are keen to experience the off-piste freeriding you can book a tour with The Surf Rider Snowboard Club.

Those looking for Freestyle terrain can visit the 2400m terrain park situated at Combe de Palafour. Closer to home there are plenty of good cliffs and gullies to keep you entertained

Recent improvements to the lift-system and the pedestrianisation of large parts of the resort are paying dividends to the reputation of Tignes. Don't forget Tignes is also an important pre-season training ground, from beginners sneaking in some early learn-to-ski courses through to World Cup racing teams.

Tignes itself also offers a great variety of piste and off-piste action. Its close links with the party action of Val d'Isere only adds to its attraction. The resort is split into three main areas, the original and main village Tignes Le Lac, Val Claret and Le Lavachet. A regular and very efficient free bus service connects all the villages until midnight.
