Val Thorens used to have a very quiet reputation for nightlife - however this has picked up at a hurtling speed in recent years! It is famous for its numerous French bars and English, Irish and Dutch pubs which attract a young and rather festive crowd! There are however cosier retreats also available if you prefer a more chilled-out evening.
Popular haunts to check out include The Ski Rock Café (with a cheap happy hour!), Gringo's and the Viking - all guaranteeing lively action. The Frog and Roast Beef is proud to be the highest pub in Europe! It shows all the major football matches and serves hearty pub food - there is often live music and dancing on the tables! Situated further down the road is O'Connells, a genuine Irish bar with a quieter atmosphere but nevertheless a friendly crowd.
Bar Malaysia, situated just outside the Tourist Office offers a stylish atmosphere with pool tables. Another popular haunt is Le Tango. If you want to party all night long then head to Beach Mountain which opens at midnight and doesn't stop until 4am - although do be warned the music is a bit Euro-cheese! Another Val Thorens nightclub offering is The Underground which always attracts a packed late-night crowd.
